About us
A giving institution, not a collection tin.
Future First Foundation was founded on a simple observation: Britain does not lack generosity, it lacks institutions worthy of it. Donors are asked to give into the dark and hope for the best. We built the foundation to be the opposite of that: an institution with the discipline of a boardroom and the patience of a family office.
From our headquarters in London we direct capital and professional time towards children and young people who need help in life. Sister offices in Frankfurt and New York extend our reach and let us place mentors and funding where they are most effective, while a single board keeps one standard across everything we do.
What we stand for
Personal commitment
Our donors and mentors give time as well as money. A donation to Future First is the beginning of a relationship with the foundation, not the end of a transaction.
Dignity before dependence
The young people we support are not cases. They are investments. We speak about them, and to them, the way any serious institution speaks about its most valuable commitments.
Open accounts
Ninety four pence in every pound reaches programmes. The remainder keeps three offices and a small permanent staff running. The full accounts are summarised in the annual magazine.
Governance
The foundation is overseen by a board drawn from finance, law, education and medicine. Programmes are approved annually, reviewed quarterly and audited independently. Administrative costs are capped in our charter, and the figure is published every year in the September magazine alongside the donor honour roll.
Donors of one thousand pounds or more are assigned a named contact at the foundation. Questions about where money went are answered by a person, in writing, within five working days.
